Did anyone watch the CBS 60 Minutes TV Show about the Absolute POker/Ultimate Bet Cheating Incidents?

What did you think?

Ok, The actual cheating scandal is old news to most online players, but did you think this was a worthwhile programme?
How will Poker be perceived by the general public?

All this did was give non-poker players more reason to believe online gambling is nothing but complete evil.  What I enjoyed was that they mentioned 3 times or so the fact that online poker illegal in the U.S. - if this was true, though, why would they release the names of a number of players who talked about their experience as online poker pros, despite living in the U.S.?  Also, I'm pretty sure some players have been payed back - for those who haven't, don't they realize (and doesn't 60 minutes realize) that it will take a while to go over 4 years of hand histories?  Last point about the article: 2 million dollars plus repayment of funds doesn't really mean much for a multi-million per year industry, why are they surprised that AP and UB are still in business?

That's more or less how I saw it it Mars. While the show was fair enough, in the sense that people
should be made aware of the cheating, it tended to show the online poker industry in a bad light.

It's not illegal to play online poker. So that's one untruth.

It's basically old news and the TV show reported it as a summary. Rather pointless.

Online poker should be regulated and there are bodies around, like the ACPW, GWPA and the recent Affiliate Forum Alliance, whom are aiming at that. A TV show which reported the concerns of these bodies would seem to have more point.
